The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) serves as a platform for student leaders to engage in health issues affecting the AANHPI community. They are seeking National Board Members who will participate in leadership roles for a term of one year, contributing to initiatives and projects that promote culturally sensitive healthcare for AANHPI patients.

Responsibilities

Run for a position on the National Board through an application process

Attend one Open House event (required for only new National Board applicants)

Attend an Executive Board meeting (required only for candidates applying to Executive Board positions)

Required

Medical/graduate students, post-graduates, and pre-health students are all eligible

All applicants must be official, dues-paying members of National APAMSA at the time of election application submission

There are no term limits on any positions, current/past officers in good standing may run again

Executive Board candidates are required at least 1 term of previous experience on the APAMSA National Board

Presidential candidates must have previously served on the Executive Board (highly recommended) or National Board for at least 1 term

All candidates must provide an institutional email address (you may contact elections@apamsa.org for an exception if you do not have an institutional email)

Individuals who have served as house staff at any point before or during the term are ineligible for National Board positions. This includes: Individuals who have completed internship/residency, Individuals who have started but not completed internship/residency, Current final year medical students planning to graduate in 2026 and begin internship/residency in 2026
