IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (SYSANALYSIS)

Responsibilities
Provides training and coaching on Agile Software Development methodologies and DevSecOps
Leads project teams to implement modern software development practices and principles
Monitors and evaluates policies, practices, procedures, techniques, methods, and management controls affecting software development
Assesses the effectiveness of existing software development processes to uncover areas for improvement
Negotiates effectively with practitioners and management to accept and implement recommendations
Develops project plans and provides oral and written updates to management on status of current projects

This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment

Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service
Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification
New employees to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards
Customer Service- experience having brief contact with customers to provide information about available information technology products and services
Oral Communication- experience informing my supervisor and other IT staff of the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations
Problem Solving- identifying or selecting from a number of alternatives to address routine information technology-related issues
FOR ENTRY AT THE GS-09: one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-07 in the federal service
Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting senior analysts or developers in identifying software design or functional requirements for information systems or software; Experience with project management principles and practices
FOR ENTRY AT THE GS-11: one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-09 in the federal service
Specialized experience is defined as: Identifying software design or functional requirements for information systems or software; Applying modern software development principles and practices, such as Agile and DevSecOps
FOR ENTRY AT THE GS-12: one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11 in the federal service
Specialized experience is defined as: Assisting in all stages of the software development lifecycle of an information system; Experience applying modern software development principles and practices, such as Agile and DevSecOps
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement
To be considered for the GS-09, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher in the Federal service
To be considered for the GS-11, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher in the Federal service
To be considered for the GS-12, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher in the Federal service
The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing
The Security Designation will vary and dependent upon position and may require a secret clearance or higher
Employment in this position requires a background investigation which may delay starting date
Individuals selected are required to obtain/maintain a favorable security determination to occupy a sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment
