Responsibilities

Assist in maintenance of Quality Manuals

Review customer contract requirements and prepare necessary quality planning (inspection plans, procedures, etc.)

Perform internal and external audits

Assist in maintenance of Approved Vendor List

Ability to effectively communicate with customers and external auditors

Compile procedures and certifications for customer approval

Assist quality Manager in preparing and maintaining welding procedures, procedure qualification records and welder performance qualifications

Required

Four-year degree in a technical field

Four years of quality engineering related experience in a fabrication and machining environment such as working with codes, standards and specifications, auditing, SPC, preparing procedures and other quality related documents, inspection, NDE

Ability to effectively communicate with customers and external auditors

Must possess good writing and communication skills

Must be proactive and be able to evaluate quality conditions

Must be able to work diplomatically with employees and customers

Must be able to work in a fabrication and machine shop environment and be able to climb on parts and machinery to perform inspections and evaluate their conditions

Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others

Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and employer's safety policies and must be willing to report safety violations, potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel

Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion

Must be available and willing to work overtime as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs
