They are seeking a Head of Electrical Engineering Services to lead the formation and growth of a new electrical engineering practice, combining technical leadership with business and team development responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute a 12 / 24 / 36-month business plan for the electrical engineering services group
Partner with company leadership and distributed teams to establish the practice
Define service offerings, execution standards, workflows, and quality control processes
Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team over time
Align hiring and resourcing with backlog, revenue growth, and financial discipline
Provide senior technical leadership and oversight across electrical engineering services, including:
Low-, medium-, and high-voltage power systems
Substations and switchyards (concept through construction-ready design)
Grounding, arc-flash, and short-circuit studies
Relay protection, control, and SCADA design and review
Photovoltaic, BESS, and auxiliary system design and review
Substation architecture, control enclosures, panel layouts, and telemetry
Review and approve technical deliverables in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Enable or manage Engineer of Record (EOR) responsibilities as appropriate
Support business development through technical input into proposals and scopes of work
Act as a senior technical interface with clients, EPCs, utilities, and stakeholders
Help identify project types aligned with grid modernization and energy transition
Coordinate detailed design with planning and interconnection workstreams
Ensure consistency between study assumptions and design execution
Operate the practice with strong cost, schedule, and quality discipline
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
12–20+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
Experience delivering electrical design services for EPCs, developers, or asset owners
Demonstrated leadership reviewing and guiding complex technical work
Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NESC, and applicable standards
Preferred
Experience building or scaling an engineering practice
Exposure to renewable energy, large electrical loads, or grid-constrained projects
Familiarity with utility coordination and interconnection requirements
