Responsibilities
Cultivate sources and generate original, relevant story ideas
Report and write accurate, fair and engaging news stories
Attend public meetings and community events as needed
Cover breaking news, including occasional nights and weekends
Collaborate with an editor to refine stories and prepare them for publication
Contribute to the development and production of local newsletters
Qualification
Required
strong reporting, writing and interviewing skills
ability to work independently and meet deadlines
flexibility to work evenings and weekends as news coverage requires
familiarity with or interest in covering local government and growth-related issues
Preferred
residence in or near northern Brunswick County is strongly preferred
