Responsibilities

Assist the Center for Law, Engagement, And Politics (LEAP) primarily with teaching assistance and secondarily research
Classroom support: Drafting and proofing quizzes and tests; copying quizzes and tests; proctoring quizzes and tests; aiding with online materials, including quizzes and tests
Event support: Copying; creating flyers; creating name tags or name tents
Research support: Generally, various topics will be provided, and you may be able to choose the ones that most interest you
Research support: Internet and library research; enter research data into computer programs
Research support: Transcribing interviews with public figures or authors
LEAP Center support: Website maintenance; bulletin board maintenance
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Excellent critical thinking, writing, and oral communication skills
Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week during the school year, including summers
Ability to work independently on assigned projects
Must be detail-oriented
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Excel, Word, Publisher, Photoshop, and research databases
Student assistants must be dependable and punctual in reporting to work and meetings, and dress in accordance with the LEAP Center dress code
Adhere to all LEAP Center policies and procedures and know all emergency policies and procedures
Must be currently enrolled and have a minimum of 3.2 cumulative GPA

Preferred

Preferred Student Classification: Sophomore, Junior or Senior
