Summer 2026 Juris Doctorate Law Internship
City and County of Denver is seeking interns for the Office of the Municipal Public Defender. Interns will gain valuable experience in criminal law and procedure while providing legal assistance in various capacities.

Responsibilities
Gain experience in the courtrooms and supplement the scope of their legal education
Gain experience in criminal defense
Experience criminal law and procedure
Learn courtroom procedures
Conduct legal research and writing
Participate in investigations
Conduct witness interviews
Assist in trial preparation
Participate in courtroom trials
Engage in motions practice
Assist with appellate work
Qualification
Required
Student Practice Act eligible students are required (2L year completed)
Education Requirement: Must be currently enrolled in Law School leading to the attainment to a JD
Education and Experience Equivalency: No substitution of experience for education is permitted
