The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as instructors in art, sports, general interest, dance, and cooking. Instructors will engage with a diverse community, offering classes for all ages and creating a welcoming environment for participants.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and instruct recreational programs, or classes based on your expertise
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for participants of all ages and skill levels
Develop and implement engaging curriculum and activities to meet program goals
Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during classes or programs
Provide guidance, feedback, and support to participants to enhance their learning experience

Required

Relevant experience and expertise in the subject matter you wish to instruct
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse participants
Passion for creating a positive and enjoyable learning experience
Must be at least 16 years of age for Instructor I and II positions
Must have at least 1 year of experience in leading and instructing general classes for Instructor II
Must have over 1 year of experience and specialized training in the assigned program area for Instructor III
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required for some positions

This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason! **Effective February 15, 2026 the accrual rate for PTO will increase to one (1) hour earned for every 23 hours worked and will include seasonal employees!**

Family Medical Leave eligibility for qualified family and medical related reasons
Paid compassionate leave is available to all part-time employees to grieve the loss of an immediate family member, to make arrangements (if necessary), and to attend memorial services. Employees are eligible for paid compassionate leave for up to the hours scheduled in their average work week.
