Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field (degree must be conferred by the time work commences)
Record of scholarly publications in top-tier journals
Demonstrated ability or strong potential to attract competitive research funding
Strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Record of successful external funding from competitive programs
Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level
Ability to perform independent research
Ability to attract external research funding
Ability to teach advanced topics in geotechnical engineering and structural engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication
