Accounting Director (Full-Time)
Christ Church is seeking an Accounting Director who will ensure the financial health and integrity of its operations. The role involves overseeing financial operations, managing budgeting and reporting processes, and mentoring accounting staff to support the church's mission of ministry growth and stewardship.

Responsibilities
Oversee financial operations of Christ Church, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and faithful stewardship across every ministry
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to provide clear, strategic insight that supports wise decision-making
Mentor and equip accounting staff and volunteers, building a culture of collaboration, growth, and shared commitment to the mission
Maintain strong financial policies, procedures, and internal controls that promote transparency, efficiency, and accountability
Partner with pastors, directors, and ministry leaders to align financial planning with vision, goals, and impact
Oversee giving records, audits, and reporting to ensure donor trust and demonstrate faithful stewardship of every gift
Provide strategic financial guidance and long-term planning to support sustainable growth and lasting ministry impact
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5 years of professional experience in accounting, financial management, or related leadership roles
Proficiency in GAAP, Excel, and accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics a plus)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Financial Leadership: You lead with excellence, accuracy, and accountability—ensuring financial processes reflect transparency and sound stewardship
Strategic Insight: You know how to interpret data and connect financial information to organizational goals, helping leadership make informed, forward-thinking decisions
Clear Communication: You're skilled in translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights that foster collaboration and understanding across teams
Operational Management: You have the ability to oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance with precision—keeping financial systems efficient, accurate, and aligned
Organization & Focus: You're equipped to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting key deadlines
Problem Solving: You approach challenges with composure and creativity—offering practical, well-reasoned solutions that keep progress moving forward
Continuous Improvement: You excel in the ability to identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen systems, and enhance overall financial performance
Preferred
CPA certification or equivalent professional credential
Experience managing nonprofit or church finances
Familiarity with fund accounting and audit preparation
