Structural Engineering Department Manager

Responsibilities

Inspire, mentor, and guide a team of talented structural engineers
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture
Conduct performance evaluations and professional development initiatives
Oversee projects from concept to completion
Ensure structural designs are safe, efficient, and innovative
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders
Review and approve structural designs, calculations, and analysis
Implement engineering best practices and cutting-edge solutions
Stay ahead of industry trends, codes, and new technologies
Act as the primary point of contact for clients
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and exceeding expectations
Allocate team resources efficiently and effectively
Oversee department budgeting and project costs
Identify process improvements to enhance productivity

Qualification

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)Structural EngineeringProject ManagementSAP2000AutoCADRevitClient-CentricLeadershipCreative Problem-Solving

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
10+ years in structural engineering, with at least 5 years leading teams
Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, Enercalc, TEDDs
Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing teams
Experience handling large, complex engineering projects
Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Preferred

Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
LEED, ENV SP, or PMP certification
Experience in both infrastructure and commercial projects
A background in contract negotiations and project budgeting
A knack for creative problem-solving and strategic thinking
