P/T Computer Associate, II
The City of New York is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the city and is seeking qualified candidates for the role of P/T Computer Associate, Level II within the NYPD's Electronics Section. The role involves directing and supervising unit activities, performing technical support, and providing citywide IT incident support while leveraging advanced troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities
Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions
Perform system validation, preventative maintenance, hardware diagnostics, software updates, and physical system upkeep
Accurately document all service activities, system changes, and resolution steps
Support data migration, system upgrades, and other critical field-based projects
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time experience, in mainframe computer, mid-range computer, LAN or WAN computer environments and or local desktop support
An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described in '1' above
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience, as described in '1' above
Education and/or experience equivalent to '1', '2', or '3' above
Undergraduate college credit can be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits, from an accredited college or university, for six months of experience
All candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and two years of satisfactory full-time experience, as described in '1' above
Preferred
Proficiency with database entries and programs such as Excel or Word
Analytical background
Troubleshooting of technical abnormalities
Personable with clients/coworkers
