Assistant Professor of Marketing (Tenure-Track)
Long Island University is inviting applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Marketing, beginning in September 2026. The role involves teaching, scholarly research, and engaging in departmental and university service, particularly in marketing, branding, and licensing-related courses.

Responsibilities
The standard teaching load is nine credits per semester (fall and spring)
A three-credit course reduction for two semesters is provided to support research productivity and preparation for tenure
In addition to teaching and scholarly activity, faculty are expected to engage in student mentoring and service, including participation in department, college, and university committees
Qualification
Required
A Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited institution in Marketing or a closely related field, completed prior to the start date. ABD candidates will be considered, provided there is clear evidence of degree completion by the Fall 2026 semester
Demonstrated potential to publish high-quality scholarly research in peer-reviewed academic journals
Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, particularly in marketing, branding, and licensing-related courses. Candidates with prior teaching experience must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness
Commitment to professional service, collegiality, and active participation in departmental, college, and university activities
Preferred
Research interests aligned with digital marketing, marketing strategy, branding, licensing, and/or analytical or quantitative modeling
Demonstrated expertise or strong interest in data-driven marketing research, including methods such as machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing
Prior teaching experience or interest in developing and teaching courses in digital marketing, social media marketing, branding, licensing, and marketing analytics
Ability and willingness to teach undergraduate management courses that complement the marketing curriculum
Experience or demonstrated potential in securing external research funding, including competitive grants or industry-sponsored projects
Relevant industry experience, particularly within large corporations or data-driven organizations, and the ability to connect academic research with managerial practice
