Responsibilities

Design and implement enterprise data warehouse solutions on GCP using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and other native services
Architect and execute cloud migration plans, including assessment of legacy systems, re-platforming, and phased cutovers to GCP
Lead adoption of Data Mesh architecture—enabling domain-oriented data ownership, self-service analytics, and interoperable data products
Define and enforce data governance standards—including data quality, metadata management, access controls, lineage, and stewardship using tools like Dataplex, Data Catalog, or Collibra
Design and operationalize Vertex AI-based solutions for ML model training, serving, and integration into eCommerce use cases like personalization and recommendations
Build and deploy agentic AI systems that act autonomously in real time to support dynamic shopping experiences (e.g., product Q&A, price adjustments, guided discovery)
Develop Conversational AI capabilities (e.g., using Dialogflow CX and LLM integrations) to power real-time customer support and engagement via chat or voice interfaces
Collaborate across engineering, data, ML, product, and UX teams to drive scalable AI-powered data solutions
Ensure architecture aligns with business goals while meeting performance, compliance, and security requirements
Provide mentorship and technical guidance across teams in best practices for GCP, AI, and modern data management

Required

8-10+ years of data architecture experience, with 3+ years focused on Google Cloud Platform
Strong expertise with BigQuery, including performance tuning, partitioning, clustering, and cost optimization
Proven experience in cloud migration from on-prem or other cloud data platforms to GCP
Experience implementing or contributing to Data Mesh principles in enterprise settings
Demonstrated knowledge of data governance, metadata management, cataloging, and access control across distributed environments
Practical experience deploying ML solutions using Vertex AI, including AutoML, custom model deployment, and MLOps
Working experience with Conversational AI and agentic systems—including LLMs, autonomous workflows, or goal-based agents
Proficiency in GCP native services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer, Dataplex, Looker, and IAM
Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills

Preferred

Experience in eCommerce or retail data and AI use cases (personalization, inventory forecasting, customer segmentation)
GCP Certifications: Professional Cloud Architect, Data Engineer, or Vertex AI Engineer
Familiarity with generative AI, RAG, or LLM fine-tuning
Hands-on experience with data quality tools, lineage tracking, or real-time observability stacks
