Development Officer II Community Assistance (062785) Housing Subsidy Officer
The State of Maryland's Department of Housing and Community Development is a national leader in affordable housing and community revitalization. They are seeking a Housing Subsidy Officer to administer federal and state grants providing financial assistance to lower-income renter households.

Responsibilities
The main purpose of this position is the administration of federal and state grants which provide financial assistance for lower income renter households residing in several local jurisdictions on Maryland's Eastern Shore
This position furthers the mission of the department by expanding affordable housing opportunities for lower-income citizens through the implementation of these grant programs
Qualification
Required
Seven years of community assistance experience in residential or commercial real estate development, governmental housing, community development or infrastructure development programs, including market research, planning, financial management, loan or grant program administration, capital projects or project development
Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in urban planning, financial management, business or public administration, political science, economic, marketing, management science or a related field and three years of community assistance experience in residential or commercial real estate development, governmental housing, community development or infrastructure development programs, including market research, planning, financial management, loan or grant program administration, capital projects or project development for the required experience
Candidates may substitute graduate credit hours in urban planning, financial management, business or public administration, political science, economics, marketing, management science or a closely related field on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required experience
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Business and Industry job family or Business and Industry job codes on a year-for-year basis for the required experience
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland
Preferred
Experience preparing reports and relative documentation in accordance with Housing and Urban Development guidelines
Experience submitting compliance reports and tracking program metrics through Housing and Urban Development secure systems
Experience administering Housing Choice Voucher programs, including eligibility determination, subsidy calculations, and client counseling
