Administrative Technician (new)

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Administrative Technician to support the well-being of Nebraska’s children and families. This role involves a variety of administrative tasks, including handling service requests, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing staff training.

Responsibilities

Receive service requests from internal staff to be used in the completion of Letter of Agreement contracts
Ensure compliance with rules/procedures and goals/objectives established by the manager/administrator
Ensure proper handling and completion of service contracts with regard to established Medicaid and Child Welfare rules and regulations
Interpret and explain program/administrative policies, processes, and guidelines to internal and external entities
Provide training to staff on best practices for identifying and requesting services for the children and families we serve
Assist leadership with key administrative tasks to keep operations running smoothly

Required

Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, social/behavioral sciences, or a related field, OR associate's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business administration, social/behavioral sciences, or a related field, with two years of experience in contract/finance procedures, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management
Familiarity with NFOCUS is a plus
In the absence of a degree, candidates must have at least four years of relevant work experience
