Responsibilities

Responsible for the research, design, installation and configuration of servers, network devices, PC related hardware and software, virtual machines, network operating systems (LAN & WAN), application software and operating systems
Monitors and measures network/server performance and analyzes system utilization in order to predict upgrade, replacement and expansion requirements
Managing and modifying databases as well as managing a dedicated STEAM room featuring specialized technologies and technical advisor for training and creating/maintaining documentation as well as instruction sets
Train Extension employees in the use of various software, Microsoft programs, Adobe suites, etc

Required

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two (2) years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR
Two (2) years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR
Four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment

Preferred

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint security tools
Experience supporting hybrid environments
