Responsibilities
Lead the design, analysis, and modeling of mechanical systems using industry-standard software and BIM tools
Develop and review HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and federal building projects
Serve as Engineer of Record, preparing, reviewing, and sealing construction documents as required
Provide senior-level technical oversight and quality assurance for mechanical calculations, drawings, and specifications
Perform and oversee field inspections, job site visits, and inspection reports on a periodic basis as needed
Maintain and foster relationships with existing clients, ensuring all project requirements, schedules, and deliverables are met
Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers, and internal departments to ensure design feasibility, constructability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards
Mentor, train, and foster the professional growth of junior engineers and design staff
Support proposal development, scope definition, and technical reviews as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Active Professional Engineer (PE) License (any state)
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering design for building systems
Proficiency in Revit and mechanical design/analysis software
Advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical system design principles and construction practices
Thorough understanding of applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, NFPA, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and provide technical direction
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sound engineering judgment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing interaction
