Responsibilities
Collaborate with tech, product, and operations teams to define the right problems to solve and how to solve them
Design and implement scalable backend systems using modern tools and patterns
Implement Python APIs and complex logic on top of AWS serverless
Contribute to system component design
Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the team for backend development
Qualification
Required
6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time building end-to-end systems with a strong focus on backend development
Expert in Python development and API development using Flask
Strong understanding of AWS and cloud-native design
Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and data models
Proven ability to design and optimize systems for performance
Excellent technical judgment and the ability to work through ambiguity with minimal direction
Preferred
Insurance or enterprise SaaS experience is a plus
