The Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) is offering a 4-month internship in the Championships Department. This role provides hands-on experience in golf administration, focusing on MGA’s championship operations and assisting with various tournament-related tasks.

Responsibilities

Travel to premier courses across the Metropolitan Area to support the administration of MGA events

Assist with pre-tournament tasks, such as course marking, set-up, and preparing local rules

Oversee inventory, refurbishment, packing, transportation, setup, and breakdown of equipment (e.g., tents, coolers, tee markers) for MGA competitions

Play an active role during tournaments by assisting with check-ins, managing pace of play, scoring, and post-event follow-up

Act as a liaison for MGA member clubs and patrons, addressing inquiries related to MGA and Met Area competitions

Support Championship Department projects, meetings, mailings, and seminars as needed

You will spend the majority of your internship attending MGA administered championships and qualifiers. ~70% of the time will be spent in the field and 30% in the office

Required

Excellent communication, public relations, and organizational skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and various database tools

Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for travel across the Tri-State area

Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment focused on customer service

Knowledge of golf and familiarity with golf terminology
