Responsibilities
Partner with Underwriting, Product, IT, and Reinsurance teams to gather and validate requirements
Translate underwriting rules and business needs into BRDs, FRDs, and functional specifications
Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in underwriting processes and automation logic
Support implementation and post-release validation activities
Own or lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for digital underwriting platforms
Design test cases aligned to underwriting rules and automated decision logic
Validate system behavior against underwriting guidelines and compliance requirements
Track defects and work closely with technology teams for resolution
Use SQL and Microsoft Excel to analyze underwriting results, test outcomes, and rule impacts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
4+ years of experience in Life Insurance underwriting or underwriting systems
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
US-based candidates only (NY / NJ preferred)
4+ years of experience across the Life Insurance value chain
Strong understanding of underwriting workflows, new business processing, and risk assessment
Familiarity with reinsurance guidelines and underwriting decision pathways
Ability to interpret underwriting rules including medical, financial, occupational, and lifestyle factors
