Responsibilities

Creates shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels
Access and schedule shipments through customer transportation websites as well as Emerson’s SCO
Routes outgoing shipments through various weight forwarders and schedules and contacts carrier representatives to arrange the shipping of freight
Oversees Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) for shipping
Directs shipping forklift driver
Properly identify shipping documents on outbound/inbound shipping forms
Order, reorder, and assembly of containers, packaging, and shipping supplies such as boxes, bags, pallets, and customer containers as needed. Both Urick packaging and customer owned packaging
Act as customer Point-of-Contact for shipping-related matters
Supervision and coordination of Urick’s part-time driver and Rapid Urick’s local carrier
Maintain accurate logs of maintenance for Urick Truck and coordination with lease company on additional services
Maintain accurate daily shipping and inventory information and instructions using computer and Odyssey, Urick’s ERP system, and Kanban inventory system
Work with Quality personnel to resolve supplier quality issues
Communicate accurate order and shipment details to Customer Service
Order and coordination of shipping of materials for production
Receiving of all inbound materials such as production materials, maintenance materials or packaging materials

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Previous relevant shipping or logistic knowledge or experience
Microsoft Office skills required include Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Uses computers frequently; interfaces with the other employees and outside visitors by telephone, mail, electronic mail, and/or in person
Works inside a foundry environment
Frequent lifting or movement of various weights
Is required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots within the foundry

Preferred

SAP or JDE ordering systems and principles preferred
