Transportation Engineering Program Manager

Responsibilities

Scoping client engagements and helping clients define needs, develop goals, and establish programmatic roadmaps
Leading projects to transform WDM's data into meaningful insights for DOT clients and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and solutions
Performing technical discipline tasks, including: data analysis, specification and standards reviews, and contributing to the review and publication of innovative approaches, performance models, and decision-making processes that enhance network safety and efficiency
Facilitating communication and knowledge management efforts with key stakeholders and client executive leadership
Participating in industry forums and professional development events to stay current on research, industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities to deliver additional value to clients
Contributing to internal strategic planning to align WDM's growth with changing national road safety practices

Required

Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience OR Master's degree with 3+ years of project or program management experience at a Department of Transportation or professional civil engineering services firm
Experience developing and implementing strategic, cost-effective, data-driven, and transformative transportation solutions
Proficiency with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
Strong client management skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work, prioritize, and manage multiple projects independently
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across internal/external teams in a remote team environment

Preferred

Current Professional Engineer (PE) license
Subject matter expertise in advanced safety or pavement analysis
Proficiency in a programming language consistent with large-scale data analytics (R, Python, etc.)
Experience using geospatial software, such as QGIS or ArcGIS in a non-academic setting
