Paralegal (Multilingual)
Lutheran Community Services Northwest is dedicated to partnering with individuals, families, and communities for health, justice, and hope. The Paralegal will assist attorneys by providing clerical and research support services, including document preparation, client interviews, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities
Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
Drafts legal documents, including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories, files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures
Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys
Interviews clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements
Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings
Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must have well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be neat, organized, and accurate
Must be able to work well under pressure and be comfortable in a multicultural setting
Must be able to multitask and set priorities
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Have respectful, open, unbiased, and accepting attitude toward clients and their families
Bachelor's degree is required
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish
Preferred
Paralegal certificate is preferred
Two years of experience as an immigration paralegal, especially asylum experience, is preferred
