Responsibilities

Facilitating the Exchange Visitor Teacher Program, including approving educators for participation, processing certification for international teachers, monitoring and assisting participants, serving as an Alternate Responsible Officer for the U.S. Department of State, and collaborating with sponsoring agencies to approve cultural exchange programs

Coordinating the annual identification of critical subject and geographic shortage areas for South Carolina and federal student loan forgiveness programs. Responding to educator inquiries regarding loan forgiveness eligibility and processes

Assisting in the ongoing review of certification guidelines, focusing on course-by-course requirements for educators seeking to add new certification fields and endorsements and convening content area experts to revise criteria as needed

Supporting recruitment initiatives, including SC Teach, SC CREATE, and housing-related programs

Representing the office and agency at stakeholder meetings, conferences, recruitment events, and educator recognition ceremonies

Performing other related duties as assigned
