Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of scalable storage solutions (SAN, NAS, Object Storage)
Define architecture standards and best practices aligned with business continuity and disaster recovery goals
Manage and optimize enterprise storage systems across on-prem and cloud environments
Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex performance issues
Maintain configuration, capacity, and performance data for proactive management
Oversee backup, replication, and recovery strategies using enterprise tools
Participate in DR planning and testing to meet RPO/RTO targets
Automate provisioning, reporting, and maintenance using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
Analyze performance and capacity trends to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Partner with network, virtualization, and application teams for seamless integration
Mentor junior engineers and assist in capacity planning and vendor management
Implement data encryption, access controls, and audit practices
Ensure adherence to ITIL-based change, incident, and problem management processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering or infrastructure management
Proven track record leading major storage infrastructure projects and migrations
Expertise with enterprise storage platforms: Dell EMC (PowerMax, Unity, Isilon), NetApp ONTAP, Pure Storage, or HPE 3PAR/Nimble
Strong knowledge of SAN (Brocade/Cisco FC), NAS, and Object Storage
Experience with cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure Blob, GCP Storage)
Background in data protection, replication, and disaster recovery
Proficiency in scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
Experience supporting virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
Familiarity with monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Grafana, Dell Unisphere, NetApp Active IQ
Understanding of ITIL processes and lifecycle management
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking under pressure
Strong communication skills and ability to document technical processes
Leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills
Detail-oriented and accountable
Preferred
Dell EMC Proven Professional, NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA), or equivalent
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
ITIL Foundation or higher
Cloud certification (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
