They are seeking a part-time pro-bono Corporate Lawyer to provide legal counsel and support for compliance with corporate governance and legal standards, including contract management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
Handling regulatory compliance matters
Managing legal risks
Providing advice on employment law, intellectual property issues, and business transactions
Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to protect the interests and operations of NYAM
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in Corporate Law, including business contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and governance
Part-time “PRO-BONO” remote role for a Corporate Lawyer 4-6 Hours Per Month
Experience in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations applicable to the museum or cultural institution industry
Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills
Ability to analyze and advise on intellectual property and licensing concerns
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work under deadlines, and address complex legal scenarios
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in the state of New York
Preferred
Experience in the cultural, nonprofit, or museum sector is a plus
