Responsibilities

Lead efforts in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees. Foster a culture of continuous learning by providing training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance

Oversee and manage the revenue accounting function, ensuring proper revenue recognition, alignment with direct cost of goods and services, and inventory reconciliations
Lead the accounts receivable function, including accurate and timely customer invoicing, payment application, and driving collections efforts in collaboration with operations. Ensure shared AR inboxes are monitored consistently for timely response and resolution of customer inquiries
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for accounts receivable performance and implement corrective actions to optimize processes and support financial goals
Manage cash collections, aligning with the company’s cash flow strategy and providing input for the 13-week cash flow forecast by analyzing collection trends and identifying risks
Oversee the general ledger and related structures (chart of accounts, branches, and company structure), ensuring accurate financial reporting and system integrity
Lead the monthly close process, including balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall completeness and accuracy of financial statements
Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to investigate gross margin variances and support budget and forecasting processes as needed
Support compliance activities such as the preparation of IRS 1099 forms and coordination with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests
Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
Stay current on changes in accounting standards, prepare documentation on impacts, and work with the accounting team to implement required updates
Follow, promote, and enforce all labor laws, safety policies, practices, and procedures to ensure safe working conditions and behaviors are maintained. Assist with safety investigations and safety hazards and/or incidents
Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Support the preparation of financial statements and ad hoc reports, providing timely insights into key metrics such as gross margin, aged receivables, and other analyses as requested

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
Minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role
In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with strong expertise in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and ASC805 Business Combination
Experience with ERP systems required; familiarity with system implementation or optimization is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information across teams and stakeholders
Proficient in computer and technology skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and mobile devices
