The role involves caring for medical and surgical patients, monitoring telemetry patients, managing post-operative care, and addressing complex health needs.

Responsibilities
Provides individualized nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes
Administers medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to physician orders and hospital policies
Monitors and responds to cardiac telemetry, recognizing and escalating abnormal heart rhythms
Engages patients and their families in care planning and education
Supports safe discharges by providing self-care management instructions and follow-up planning
Operates medical equipment, including IV pumps, telemetry monitors, and patient mobility aids
Documents all care activities, assessments, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
Promotes patient safety through fall prevention, infection control, skin integrity management, and medication safety practices
Participates in unit-based and system-wide quality improvement initiatives
Collaborates with physicians, physical therapists, case managers, and other team members to coordinate patient care
Participates in bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and team huddles
Maintains responsibility for continuing education and specialty competencies
Supports a positive work environment by mentoring less experienced staff and participating in team-building activities
Ensures equipment is available, maintained, and properly used for patient care
Participates in departmental cleaning, organization, and supply management
Performs other duties as assigned to support patient care and unit operations
Qualification
Required
Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficiency with EHR systems and healthcare technologies
Preferred
BSN
