The role involves various maintenance tasks including mowing, cleaning, and assisting with park functions, as well as working on natural resource projects such as river cleanups and invasive plant removal.

Responsibilities
Must communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business
Mows/cuts grass with power equipment, commercial riding mowers and weed eaters
Opens and closes park gates, restrooms and prepares fields for use
Loads and unloads dirt, gravel, and other debris
Cleans, maintains and services equipment and tools
Picks up trash in the parks areas and disposes of it properly
Cleans and restocks restrooms and cleans picnic pavilions and prepares them for reservations
Maintains and conducts light repair work on equipment, building and grounds; repairs irrigation systems
Moves and sets up for park functions requiring moving tables, bleachers, and chairs for concerts and special events
Cuts down and removes limbs, branches, and trees that have been damaged by adverse weather conditions
Trims and sprays weeds with herbicide; spreads fertilizer
Installs mulch and trims landscape
Performs other work as assigned
In addition to the posted details, natural resources groundskeeper are responsible for: River Cleanups, Working with Volunteers, Invasive plant removal, Wetland Restoration projects, Grassland restoration/installation projects, Arboretum Care and Maintenance, Hiking and Bike Trail Maintenance, Bioretention and Native Gardens Care and Maintenance
Qualification
Required
Requires High School diploma or GED, which may be waived by work experience
Must have a valid driver's license
Must communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business
Experience in landscaping or closely related field preferred
