American Public Health Association is focused on helping Americans prepare for disasters and hazards through its Get Ready campaign. The Get Ready intern will serve as a project manager, supporting campaign activities, writing materials, and managing social media tools.

Responsibilities

Serve as a project manager for each semester’s work

Write and create material for Get Ready

Help plan activities for Get Ready Day and the Clocks and Stocks program

Organize for APHA’s Annual Meeting and Expo

Support APHA's and Get Ready’s social media tools, such as Twitter and YouTube

Write blog posts, design infographics, and record and edit podcasts for Get Ready

Conduct research and analysis to develop factsheets, shareable tools and other educational resources on emergency preparedness and emerging infectious disease issues

Attend relevant briefings and seminars

Required

Candidates must be able to work in the US during the internship

Must be comfortable leading a team

Experience with deadlines, graphic design and translation of evidence-based information into lay language is a plus

Experience with social media and websites

Interns must adhere to APHA COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate Policy
