Payroll Manager

Sysco is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and coordinate all payroll functions within the organization. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining compliance with regulations, and managing financial and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, and PeopleSoft
Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of employee records, benefits administration, and tax information
Reconcile payroll accounts and perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and maintain proper documentation for audit purposes
Oversee accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; process tax filings accurately and timely
Collaborate with HR to ensure proper benefits administration including deductions, garnishments, and other employee-related payments
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks for financial tracking and reporting purposes
Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or issues; recommend process improvements
Support non-profit or governmental accounting requirements as needed
Perform account reconciliation, 10 key typing, double entry bookkeeping, technical accounting tasks, and general ledger management

Required

Experience in payroll management systems including Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, and PeopleSoft
Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks
Solid understanding of financial concepts related to payroll processing, benefits administration, tax compliance, and general ledger accounting
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy
Experience with 10 key typing
Ability to perform account reconciliation accurately
Familiarity with debits & credits, journal entries, and bookkeeping practices
Analytical skills for reviewing payroll reports and identifying discrepancies or issues
Knowledge of human resources processes related to payroll and benefits administration
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Preferred

Experience in governmental or non-profit accounting is a plus
Experience with financial software is highly desirable
