Cloud Security Engineer

The Cloud Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain security controls for cloud and hybrid environments, collaborating with various teams to secure cloud architectures and automate security controls.

Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments
Secure cloud infrastructure, workloads, containers, and services using cloud-native and third-party security tools
Implement identity and access controls in cloud environments, including IAM, MFA, conditional access, and least-privilege policies
Monitor cloud security posture and investigate security alerts in collaboration with SOC and incident response teams
Identify and remediate cloud misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, and exposure risks
Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation workflows
Support cloud security posture management (CSPM), cloud workload protection (CWPP), and container security initiatives
Collaborate with engineering teams to design secure cloud architectures and review infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
Support risk assessments, audits, and compliance initiatives aligned with NIST, CIS, ISO, and regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain cloud security documentation, standards, and runbooks
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen cloud security maturity and resilience
Qualification
Required
Strong experience in cloud security engineering within enterprise or cloud-native environments
Hands-on experience securing cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity, logging, and monitoring services
Experience with cloud security tools and services such as CSPM, CWPP, CASB, and cloud-native security controls
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and serverless security concepts
Experience integrating security into DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate cloud security issues
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST CSF/RMF, CIS Benchmarks, and ISO 27001
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500), Security+, or similar
