Responsibilities
Build and implement structured systems for managing all engineering deliverables, including formal drawing release, CAD model control, BOM generation, testing data capture, and complete release packages
Lead the strategic overhaul of current documentation methods (e.g., transitioning from QuickBooks for ERP and Dropbox for document storage) to more scalable, secure, and modern solutions over time
Review and formally approve engineering designs, complex technical calculations, SolidWorks models, and final production documentation packages
Work closely with Operations, CNC/Machining, Assembly, and Quality teams to ensure a smooth and efficient hand-off from the Engineering department to full-scale production
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
7–10 years of progressive engineering leadership and product development experience, specifically utilizing phase-gate or structured NPD (New Product Development) systems
Must have experience in automotive powertrain, performance aftermarket, specialty vehicles, or other high-mechanical systems environments
Expert proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software
Must be an expert with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
Experience with advanced quality planning and documentation, including DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects, documentation control, BOM (Bill of Materials) creation, and configuration control in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
