Senior Lecturer in Immersive & Digital Media
The University of Bristol's School of Arts is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Immersive and Digital Media to contribute to curriculum design and teaching on the MA Immersive Arts programme. The successful candidate will lead research efforts in immersive and digital media, develop educational programs, and provide academic leadership in the field.

Responsibilities
Leading and contributing to excellence in research with or on immersive and digital media, achieving grant capture and publishing world-leading and internationally excellent research or practice-as-research outputs
Provide research leadership and mentorship to staff and postgraduates and lead the development of new themes in emerging media/technologies research
Curriculum development and content design, including for new ‘Methods for Immersive Research’ and Innovation and ‘Immersive Industries’ units, and future programmes or educational offers
Deliver existing and new units, contribute teaching to postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, and build our capacity to supervise doctoral students in this growing field of practice and research
Promote innovative teaching methods that improve student experience, transferable skills creation and employability prospects
Direct units/programmes in Immersive Arts and digital media, take a leadership role in the development of education programmes and research initiatives in the School of Arts and Faculty, with a focus on creative technologies and cultural industries
Contribute to research leadership and development in the School and take on administrative, managerial and leadership roles
Qualification
Required
You hold a PhD in immersive arts/digital media (VR/AR/XR, interactive or spatial storytelling, virtual production) or a closely related field
You have significant academic experience, including substantial post-PhD teaching and research achievements
You demonstrate proven academic leadership in teaching and research, with a consistent record of internationally excellent outputs (including practice-as-research)
You bring practical experience of teaching immersive arts/technologies and digital media, e.g. experience design, immersive production, XR performance/installation, interactive narrative, virtual environment design, 3D animation, virtual or post-production
You are familiar with using emerging technologies, software and hardware for immersive and digital media
