Senior LevelTulane University School of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct independent research on retrotransposon biology. Conduct independent research on retrotransposon biology
Participate in research projects focused on the genomic content, expression, mobilization mechanisms, and disease contributions of retrotransposons
Use genetically modified animal models as well as in vitro and ex vivo systems, including cell lines and both humans and animal tissues
Plan and perform experiments
Analyze and summarize data
Contribute to writing manuscripts and grant proposals in collaboration with the Principal Investigator
Submit research results for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in a relevant field such as molecular biology, genetics, or a related discipline
Experience in conducting independent research
Strong background in retrotransposon biology
Familiarity with genomic content analysis and expression studies
Experience with mobilization mechanisms of retrotransposons
Ability to work with genetically modified animal models
Experience with in vitro and ex vivo systems, including cell lines and human and animal tissues
Proficiency in planning and performing experiments
Strong data analysis and summarization skills
Experience in writing manuscripts and grant proposals
Ability to collaborate effectively with the Principal Investigator and other team members
Experience in submitting research results for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
