The primary responsibility of this role is to collect and submit reliable data to the bariatric database, ensuring high-quality data entry and identifying opportunities for clinical quality improvement.

Responsibilities
Collect and submit reliable data to the bariatric database
High-quality data compilation, documentation and entry into the bariatric database of all eligible primary and provisional bariatric surgeries for the hospital
Work closely with the members of the bariatric surgery team to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects
Keep the bariatric surgery program up to date with best practices, including identification of performance improvement projects/activities to ensure optimal care for bariatric surgical patients
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a registered nurse in a relevant acute care setting, preferably with bariatric patients
Graduate of an approved, accredited School of Nursing
Current licensure as a registered nurse in New Jersey
BLS required
Preferred
BSN preferred
Certified bariatric nurse preferred, must be obtained within 2 years of hire
