Advertising Sales Operations Manager
Flagship Publishing is a company that connects readers and advertisers through strong editorial and regional storytelling. They are seeking an Advertising Sales Operations Manager to manage the sales cycle for advertising, ensuring clean data and disciplined follow-up across multiple markets. This role involves selling print and digital advertising, engaging with advertisers, and owning the CRM and sales systems.
Responsibilities
Sell print and digital advertising to a defined book of advertisers and prospects, managing renewals and ongoing business relationships
Conduct outbound sales via phone and email
Prepare proposals using established pricing and formats
Close contracts and coordinate ad materials and deadlines
Operate fully within required CRM workflows, stages and follow-up standards
Run outbound and follow-up outreach to engage advertisers and prospects
Build and run targeted email campaigns, reactivation efforts and renewal outreach
Segment lists and campaigns by market, region, advertiser type and sales motion
Support list-based prospecting tied to editorial calendars, themes and issues
Ensure marketing-driven leads and responses are captured accurately in the CRM
Coordinate messaging with editorial and production timelines to support sales goals
Own the CRM as the system of record for leads, advertisers, prospects, deals, renewals and tasks
Define and enforce required fields and standards for lead and advertiser records
Ensure leads are routed, claimed and followed up within defined timeframes
Design and enforce deal stages that require explicit next actions and data completeness
Ensure every active lead and deal has an owner, task, due date and follow-up logic
Build and use workflows, automation and reporting to support high-volume sales across multiple markets
Monitor lead aging, proposal aging, renewal windows and stalled opportunities
Build and use dashboards and reports to track lead flow, pipeline health and sales motion
Build and maintain structured outreach and follow-up schedules
Coordinate advertising timelines with editorial and production calendars
Ensure deadlines, materials, and approvals are clearly communicated
Keep sales activity moving issue to issue with consistency and clarity
Identify friction and inefficiencies through daily selling and system use
Implement practical improvements within existing tools and constraints
Maintain and refine sales scripts, templates and documentation
Support contributors with structure, visibility and execution discipline
Track activity and surface risks to maintain revenue continuity across markets
Qualification
Required
Proven experience selling advertising, media or B2B services
Daily, hands-on CRM use in a revenue role with personal ownership of outcomes, including: Managing deal pipelines and defined stages
Enforcing required fields and data standards
Building and using follow-up workflows and task automation
Managing lifecycle stages from lead through renewal
Executing segmented email campaigns tied directly to sales execution
Experience using HubSpot Sales, Marketing, and Operations capabilities in a professional or enterprise environment is strongly preferred; Salesforce experience is acceptable with equivalent hands-on ownership
Experience managing large, diverse contact lists across multiple markets or territories
Ability to design systems that scale while adapting to regional and customer nuance
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized and dependable across multiple deadlines
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Preferred
Experience using HubSpot Sales, Marketing, and Operations capabilities in a professional or enterprise environment is strongly preferred; Salesforce experience is acceptable with equivalent hands-on ownership
