Libraries
Responsibilities
Provide front-line customer service to patrons in person and by phone, assisting with library accounts, materials, questions, and general needs
Support access to collections through readers' advisory and basic reference assistance
Perform circulation and materials handling functions including check-in and check-out, shelving, processing daily notifications to the public, and maintaining collections
Assist patrons with library technology and equipment, including public computers, self-check kiosks, and copiers
Support daily branch operations including opening and closing procedures, branch clerical and maintenance needs, and assisting with programs and events
Protect patron confidentiality, and complete other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Six months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of standard computer software and library systems
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently with attention to detail and good task prioritization
Accurate data entry and filing skills
Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate when needed
