Program Manager (IEC)

Responsibilities
Monitors the manufacturing processes used to help ensure the overall safety of everyone involved in the process
When necessary, takes action to prevent and eliminate unsafe conditions or behaviors in the work cell
Monitors the overall quality of products to ensure that they meet the strictest standards and expectations of both our company and our customers
Works closely with our quality team and when necessary, takes action to correct any quality deficiency found
Manages approval process for all required customer approvals, including drawings; communicate to customer on any project schedule impacts, how timeline will be impacted and potential options to mitigate slip
Ensures all documentation – commercial, technical, quality, logistics/shipping – is appropriately provided
Advises on lead times with quotes and product orders
Facilitates project meetings with clients and proactively tracks all project-related action items
Develops project approach and works with assigned engineers to provide conceptual sketches, general arrangement drawings, and basic one-line electrical diagrams; prepares 'job traveler'
Engages with customers on all technical questions
Able to independently recommend design and specification options based on customer application
Provides commissioning and field support on projects as required
Proven ability to achieve high-quality results through continual attention to detail and anticipation of potential problems during the early planning and design review stages
Fully accountable for maximizing job profitability
Maintains awareness of quoted budget and proactively seeks opportunities for margin improvement
Regularly reviews project profitability and course corrects as necessary
Manages customer and supplier-related issues regarding changes in project scope, cost, and change orders. Able to independently suggest alternative components, solutions, or options to keep the project on track
Conducts post job review: ensuring all Epicor details are accurate including materials issues and job profitability
Develops project schedule and takes overall responsibility for schedule performance and on-time delivery
Confirms project schedule (approved by master scheduler) meets customer needs; flags and addresses any potential production schedule issues
Insures timely project kick-off meetings, design reviews, and production handovers in-line with the defined project schedule
Coordinates schedule with operations to ensure shop capacity is available to meet commitments
Proactively statuses schedule to identify any material or other schedule-related issues
Reviews customer’s specifications and IE proposals to have a clear understanding and awareness of project scope and requirements while checking for accuracy and assessing other applicable risk factors
Qualification
Required
BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or technical field with at least four-years of experience in project management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and drawings, P&ID's, general business reports, government regulations such as OSHA, MSHA, NEC, NAFPA, UL, etc
Ability to write professional level RFP's, RFQ's and supplement technical drawings and reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with project-engineering team, manufacturing personnel, and customers to ensure successful completion of projects
Understanding of role of contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, change orders, etc
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as electrical load ratios, building capacity, design dimensions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and mechanical/electrical voltage calculations as well as multiplication, division, addition and subtraction
Ability to calculate engineering formulas, operation costs, production costs, determine profit margins, discounts, read and understands cash flow statements, parts pricing, discounts and production overrun costs
Ability to solve complex and problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of AutoCAD/engineering software
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
Must be proficient with EPICOR software project management software
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must comply with and follow all IE standards (Cardinal Rules), programs, policies, and procedures as they apply to this position, reports any unsafe condition immediately
Must operate and perform job duties in a safe manner
Must be able to operate/work safely around machinery/moving equipment
Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required
