Responsibilities
Identifies and tags all capital equipment in accordance with established departmental and Medical Center policy and procedures
Records and maintains a log of all numeric control tag numbers and copies of capital purchases provided to accounting for asset recording
Manages the sale of equipment and maintain control of all equipment disposal. Provides the capital equipment accountant with documentation on all transfers for maintenance of equipment records
Maintains proper safety controls of inventory and storage area for equipment not currently in use. Advises departments and buyers f equipment availability
Coordinated and controls the transfer of all equipment between campuses and doctor's offices. Insures the proper documentation is prepared and signed by departments involved as required by Supply Chain Services policy and procedures
Works with departments to determine if equipment for disposal is salable or scrap. Coordinates finding a buyer, negotiating sell price and collect proceeds prior to releasing salable equipment
Prepares proper documentation on trade-ins made through the Purchasing department and send to the capital equipment accountant for maintenance of property and financial records
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy when processing documentation. Organize and conduct annual employee sale of surplus items as required by Medical Center policy and procedures
Assists Clinical Engineering and departments perform annual review of departmental capital equipment on hand for maintenance and documentation. Compares physical on hand equipment with accounting records
Acts as a resource for Supply Chain Management by working as a back-up for distribution, receiving and OR storeroom during personnel shortage on both campuses
Assist Management with cost savings efforts by assisting Clinical Engineering and other departments by performing maintenance and repair of equipment
Assists Supply Chain Management in the preparation and counting of the year-end physical inventories as required. Assists warehouse supervisor with the sale or disposal of obsolete/expired inventory supplies

Qualification
Required
High school or equivalent degree required
Minimum up to 2 years experience in healthcare Materials Management required
