Responsibilities
In coordination with the Director of Information Services & Support, leads IT operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources
Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, and peripherals
Benchmarks, analyzes, reports on, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure
Oversees provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services. Works with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations
Under the guidance of the Director of Information Services & Support, directs research on potential technology solutions in support of procurement efforts
Keeps current with the latest technologies
Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
In coordination with the Director of Information Services & Support, develops and implements all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision
Develops requests for proposals on IT related projects
Negotiates and administers vendor, outsourced, and consultant contracts and service agreements
Practices asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment
Manages IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions
Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with Senior Management in Information Services & Support, decision makers in other departments, and with end users regarding pertinent IT activities
Qualification
Required
University degree in the field of computer science and 10 years related work experience
Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows operating system and other Microsoft Technologies
Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards
Extensive application support experience with E-Mail applications
Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures
Capability to manage a team of IT professionals including geographically remote locations
Strong understanding of project management principles
Strong leadership skills
Highly self-motivated and directed
Excellent interpersonal skills
Exceptional customer service orientation
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to conduct research into IT issues and products as required
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Keen attention to detail
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Preferred
Master of Business Administration with technology as a core component preferred
Certifications in Cisco network technology (CCNA & CCNP preferred)
