Responsibilities

Evaluates and develops moderately complex manufacturing processes by analyzing product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; collaborating with suppliers; and gathering input from operators and production technicians
Supports the work transfer project for pneumatics commercial products, ensuring smooth transition and process integration
Performs process verifications to confirm that established processes meet performance specifications and quality standards
Designs, modifies, and tests manufacturing methods and equipment based on product requirements; develops and manages tooling as required; prepares clear written and graphical work instructions for production personnel
Assists in the layout and establishment of manufacturing cells that promote efficient workflow and meet required production rates
Applies continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles to refine products and processes; may lead special projects involving multiple products or processes
Enhances manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space, and equipment layout; ensures process control and reliability; coordinates cross-team input to implement changes
Assures product and process quality by designing and executing testing methods, establishing standards, and using statistical tools (e.g., DOE, SPC) to identify root causes and recommend design or process adjustments
Provides decision-making support by calculating production costs, reviewing schedules, estimating future needs, and liaising with suppliers as needed
Prepares detailed reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends; presents findings to teams, suppliers, or customers
Maintains product and process databases through documentation such as computer programs, travelers, and operation sheets
Keeps current with industry trends and best practices by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in professional associations
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., environmental, safety) by monitoring legislation and advising management on required actions
Shares expertise by mentoring new employees, representing the company on projects, and contributing to cross-functional teams including quality, design, and test engineering

Required

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering field
Typically requires two or more years of related experience to perform essential job functions
Proficient in ERP systems, document control requirements, and working with CAD/CAM or other computer-aided manufacturing systems
Solid knowledge of manufacturing and production engineering principles, general business operations, and aerospace or similar industry standards including legal and regulatory requirements
Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions on moderately complex technical issues
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and policies, and recommend procedural improvements
Effective communication skills to present information clearly to team members, leadership, customers, and regulatory agencies
Demonstrated teamwork and leadership competencies, including goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development
Proficient with standard business software and specialized data analysis tools

Preferred

SME or ASME certification is desired
Preferred experience in lean manufacturing principles and practices, with demonstrated ability to apply continuous improvement methods (e.g., pull systems, process mapping, JIT)
Proven ability to lead projects across multiple facilities and implement Six Sigma methodologies in manufacturing processes
Familiarity with AS9100 standards, work transfers, product validation, value stream analysis, and mistake-proofing techniques
