Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities related Meat Films through various business development avenues like but not limited to Outreach, Networking, Market research. Pursue Prospective Meat Processors and Packers in US Central and Canada Region. Build and maintain pipeline of qualified leads of decision makers and important point of contacts. Arrange meetings and testing with stakeholders from concerned departments like production team, quality, packaging, purchase/procurement
Analyse the technical and functional requirements of the Meat Wrap Films from Meat Processors and Packers, study their Auto-tray wrapping Machine make and propose suitable Polyethylene Films variant as an alternative to the current PVC-based Meat Films in consultation with the Technical Services – Product Development team
Achieve and exceed Sales targets set by Specialty America. Prepare forecast and contribute to the formulation in strategies for Meat Wrap Films business growth
Liaise with Technical Services – Product Development team at manufacturing facility and Prospective Customer’s Quality Assurance team to resolve their concerns related to the Meat Wrap Films’ regulatory compliance, functional performance and technical feasibility
Communicate the packaging requirements of the meat processors and packers to the Technical Services – Product Development team to develop the film’s sample as per prospect’s requirement
For Manual overwrapping Meat Films: Liaise with the Prospective Customer’s Quality and Procurement team and decision makers for pilot runs and testing at different locations of Meat Wrap Films. Brainstorm strategies to convert the leads in to loyal customers. Maintain relationships with Current Customer and Hot Leads to explore opportunities to cross sell and upsell the Portfolio of Films
For Auto-tray overwrapping machines Meat Films: Schedule Testing with Prospective Customers to qualify the Samples of Meat Wrap Films and attend the trail sample run at the prospective customer’s processing unit. Consult with Technical Sales Specialist and Technical Services Team to provide inputs to prospective customer’s Production team on the adjustments of the Auto-tray wrapping machines settings based on the machine make
Take guidance from Technical Services team, Technical Sales Specialist and use their own expertise to troubleshoot the operational and quality issues / problems based on previous learnings & observations at trails of the different auto-wrapping machines like Omori, Ossid, Digi, Ishida, Mettler Toledo, Ulma, Fabbri, Hobart, Bizerba etc
Help team hypothesize the machine setting adjustments and calibrations based on the trails at different Locations in US Central and Canada Region and contribute to the development of the internal case studies for the different auto-wrapping machines like Omori, Ossid, Digi, Ulma, Fabbri, Hobart, Bizerba etc
Consult with Technical Sales Specialist to provide inputs to the Technical Services Team to and help them document and disseminate the findings, observations, results and the hypothesis testing to contribute to the learning curve of the Specialty America
Maintain a good relationship with the Auto-wrapping machine Manufacturers and engage them to seek guidance and inputs on the Machine Setting Adjustments to fine-tuning the performance at the Prospective Customer’s Manufacturing / Processing Unit
For both Manual Meat Wrap Films and Automatic Tray Meat Overwrapping Films: Pursue the Prospective Meat processor and Packers for the different Test reports like Shelf life testing, operational and functional performance report, downgauging comparison report etc. Based on the reports provide inputs to the Technical Services – Product Development team in order to finalize the specifications and formulation for the prospective customer
Discuss the commercials and supply chain preferences with prospective customer’s sourcing team. Based on the commercial discussions and preferred supply chain arrangements obtain the pricing from the costing team and initiate the negotiations with Prospective Customers post submission of the proposal. Seek guidance on the negotiations from top management and discuss the trade-off between the profitability and target pricing. Lead the negotiations with Prospective Customers to improve the conversion rate maintaining the profitability of the business
Build market intelligence through different sources and gather feedback from the stakeholders of the Meat Industry. Build and nurture strong relationships with converted Customers and provide the after Sales support. Visit customers to troubleshoot the issues if the Order Complaints are received
Lead and Guide International Business Development – North America Meat Films Team based in India responsible for US Central Region’s Accounts to build the Sales funnel
Reporting & Coordination
Embrace and adapt to Specialty America’s business development conventions, values, culture and way of working
Coordinates with the International Business Development Team and the Production & Technical Services Team based at Specialty Polyfilms’ manufacturing facility in India
Qualification
Required
Experienced Graduate/ Post Graduate Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales with proper understanding of Meat Overwrapping Films Market in US Central and Canada Region
10 – 15 Years of Experience working in Sales or Business Development or Packaging Material Purchase in and for Meat Industry
Eagerness to learn about our innovative Forvara® Polyethylene based Meat Overwrapping Films which are an alternative to Polyvinyl Chloride based Meat Overwrapping films
