Seasonal On-Call Porter Supervisor

Wildlife Conservation Society is seeking an On-Call Porter Supervisor to assist with event setup and management. The role involves supervising porter staff, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of event spaces, and coordinating logistics for catering events.

Responsibilities

Ability to work at a fast pace and coordinate multiple projects while assisting the catering events and culinary team in the set-up and execution of all events according to the customizations specified on the Banquet Event Order
Instruct, lead, supervise and assist the porter staff in all daily duties
Gathering, transporting, setting up, breaking down, and storing event equipment
Filling pull sheet orders to gather equipment needed for specific events, ensuring they are all complete
Load supplies safely into appropriate vehicles and transport to the location of the events
Set up equipment needed for the success of the event including tables, chairs, dancefloor, linens, food service equipment, china, glassware, etc
Assist in bussing and running food, helping clear and replenish food items during events
Oversee the set up, execution, break down, and clean up Sanit area during larger events
Supervise and assist porters in dish room operations and trash removal duties
Inspect and supervise the general cleaning and sanitation of event space, kitchen, sanit, dish room, restrooms, storage areas, carts, etc
Wash, sanitize and properly store all tableware, catering equipment and silverware
Operate light weight grounds keeping equipment including leaf blower and pressure washer
Deep cleaning of equipment, walls, floors, vents, ceilings, vehicles, etc. as assigned
Assist in inventorying, cleaning, and organizing all equipment
Ensure the retrieval and proper storage and organization of tables, chairs, rental equipment and other materials on a daily basis
Break down all equipment at the conclusion of events and ensure all items are put away and the event space is cleaned
Receive incoming deliveries, ensure they are properly stored away, and assist with vendor load in
Ensure the maintenance of all work and storage areas so they are in compliance with safety requirements and sanitation standards
Inspect all function areas at the conclusion of the event to ensure cleanliness and completion of tasks
Communicate to the status of the facilities, equipment and work performance of the set-up staff on a regular basis
Follow safe storage, service, and sanitation practices
Drive safely to and from designated areas within events using company motor vehicle
Perform other related duties assigned by management

Required

Prior Janitorial or Events, Conference services, Hotel, Banquet, or Restaurant experience required
High School graduate or (GED) equivalent required
Must be detailed, organized, reliable, punctual, and dependable
Must have outstanding customer service and the ability to maintain customer satisfaction under pressure or with deadlines
Must have strong communications skills and be able to lead a team
Must be able to work independently and/or in a team with limited supervision
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have flexible availability including day shift and night shift hours, weekends and holidays

Preferred

Valid driver's license preferred
