Accounting Supervisor
CFS is a rapidly growing non-for-profit organization looking to add an Accounting Supervisor to their team. The role involves supporting financial operations, leading month-end close processes, and advising accounting staff on GAAP compliance.

Responsibilities
Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards, coordinate accounting staff for timely month-end close, support internal/external reporting needs
Develop and maintain departmental calendar; coordinate with internal and external units to proactively identify and resolve accounting issues
Coordinate with HR, IT, Facilities, and other functional departments to proactively identify and resolve accounting impacts
Collaborate with Grants department on needs related to Award/Post-Award phases
Support audit preparation, both annually and as needed for other programmatic audits or fiscal administrative reviews; coordinating with staff to get timely submissions without disrupting daily functional needs; support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Support accounting staff with GAAP questions related to specific projects or entities and associated journal entries or account reconciliations
Prepare and review journal entries for accuracy and completeness, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to GAAP and internal policies
Assist with system upgrades or implementations related to accounting software and financial reporting tools
Identify process improvement opportunities within accounting workflows and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency
Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, assisting with issue resolution, vendor communications, and aging reports as needed
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Strong Accounting and managerial background in a non-profit
Experience with GAAP
Ability to reconcile bank accounts and credit cards
Experience in coordinating accounting staff for timely month-end close
Ability to support internal/external reporting needs
Experience in developing and maintaining departmental calendars
Ability to coordinate with internal and external units to identify and resolve accounting issues
Experience in collaborating with Grants department on Award/Post-Award phases
Ability to support audit preparation and coordinate with staff for timely submissions
Experience in preparing and reviewing journal entries for accuracy and completeness
Ability to assist with system upgrades or implementations related to accounting software
Experience in identifying process improvement opportunities within accounting workflows
Ability to monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
