Responsibilities
Enable development teams by driving design of major service components
Work with engineering managers and TPMs
Provide direct guidance to more junior team members
Go from high level system design to hands-on prototyping
Write architectural documentation and drive engineering peer reviews
Conduct code reviews and project bootstrapping
Balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements
Automate and instrument services
Instill a culture of high quality and customer focus
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in software engineering
Experience with dual-stack Software/Network Development
Experience in building control plane components for public cloud services
Experience with the design of major features and launching them into production
Experience in building and operating high-scale public cloud services
Deep understanding of control plane architecture
Ability to work independently on most projects and tasks
Experience in driving design of major service components
Ability to work with engineering managers and TPMs
Experience in providing direct guidance to junior team members
Ability to go from high level system design to hands-on prototyping
Experience in writing architectural documentation
Experience in driving engineering peer reviews
Ability to balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements
Experience in motivating teams to make process and service improvements
Understanding of operational excellence and instilling a culture of high quality and customer focus
Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
