Chicago Magnesium Casting Co is seeking a Casting Tool & Grind Operator Trainee. This role involves safely cleaning castings using grinders and blending tools to meet customer requirements and ensure quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and the proper reporting of processed quantities

Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times

Understand customer requirements, our companies internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship

Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you make/process

Complete, date and sign-off on all routing information

Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards

Use grinding wheels to remove ingate and riser pads

Blend any surface that does not meet 250 surface finish using grinders and blending tools

Complete routing, sign and date and fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required

Follow job orders and written and verbal instructions for product specifications such as finishes, dimensions, tolerances, number of parts, fixtures and grinding wheels to be used

Maintain tools, gages and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner

Clean work area throughout day as required

Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate supervisor
