The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for the health and well-being of all North Carolinians. They are seeking a Health Care Technician I to provide direct care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with training, activities, and basic care.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care services to individuals with intellectual / developmental disabilities

Carry out goaled programs to encourage independent functioning in all aspects of daily living

Qualification

Nurse Aide INurse Aide IIEMT certificationDirect care servicesLearn techniquesWork with disabilities

Required

High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Must be in good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry

Must successfully complete training through the Staff Development department which includes, but is not limited to NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting

Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of occasional force and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects

Visual acuity to determine acuity accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work

Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation

As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing

As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
