Senior Regulatory Analyst

The California Public Utilities Commission is one the State’s lead agencies working to reduce carbon emissions and encourage sustainability in California. The Senior Regulatory Analyst will be part of a team of energy professionals, solving complex regulatory problems and assisting with policy development related to building decarbonization.

Responsibilities

Assist with policy development relating to building decarbonization in various rulemakings and work relating to zonal electrification, as directed by SB 1221 (Min, 2024)
Oversee implementation of CPUC building decarbonization policy and/or programs
Provide regulatory oversight for large energy programs
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
Develop technical research and oversee evaluation studies
Lead meetings and provide presentations
Achieve the state's goals of addressing climate change through building electrification

Required

Eligibility for the classification(s)
Experience related to public utilities and/or transportation in the areas of economics, finance, or policy
Ability to conduct technical, economic, financial and/or policy research and analysis
Ability to collaborate with colleagues and establish and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships
Completion of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678
Submission of a resume
Submission of a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)
Submission of a copy of transcript or diploma if using education to meet minimum qualifications
Verification of United States course/degree equivalency for foreign education
Completion of employment information on the STD 678 state application with dates, duties and responsibilities, and contact names and phone numbers of supervisors
